Island Bait & Tackle is a family-run fishing company based in Alameda, California, built by fishermen who make the gear, fish the local waters, and stand behind every product we sell.
We got hooked on fishing after reeling in a 46-inch sturgeon in the California Delta. In 2020, our ocean fishing journey began with a SeaDoo FishPro, chasing California halibut in the San Francisco Bay. As our passion grew, so did our range — from the Bay to the Farallon Islands in search of rockfish, lingcod, and other local species.
Today, we design and use the same gear we sell. Our tackle is tested in the waters we fish, built for real conditions, and made for anglers who care about quality, performance, and local knowledge.
Island Food Co. is our fishermen-owned and operated licensed fish business, founded on sustainability, freshness, and community. We provide access to fresh, wild-caught, local seafood harvested from California waters. Our fish are handled and processed with care right on the boat to ensure peak quality, with local delivery available in Alameda.
We began our commercial fishing journey in 2023 aboard our 17’ Crestliner, proudly known as Sea Dog, and we’re excited to enter summer 2026 with our 28’ Armstrong Marine F/V Kraken.
